Best Beaches in Hawaii

The beaches in Hawaii are plentiful, so to save you some time we've decided to name our favorite beach on each island. This will help save you time, while allowing you to enjoy some of the nicest beaches on the entire planet.  In fact, roughly 5 million people visit to Hawaii each year just so they can enjoy Hawaii's fabulous beaches.

When in comes to beaches in Hawaii, Waikiki is pretty much the main hub, so to speak, and while it's usually somewhat crowded with tourists, it's our favorite beach on the island of Oahu because of the numerous activities available. It's also great for people watching, and the beautiful backdrop of the magnificent Koolau Mountain Range makes this beach our top choice on Oahu.

On Kauai, know as the "garden island", our pick for best beach is at Hanalei Bay. This beach is considered to be the most beautiful in all of Hawaii by many people. One of the things that makes this beach our favorite is it peaceful, beautiful white-sand beach. During the early-morning hours, the ocean is like a completely sheet of glass. This is the time to truly appreciate just how scenic the beach is, as you can see the reflection of the surrounding mountains in the still bay waters.

Over on the island of Maui, Kapalua Bay Beach is our top pick. Located on the western part of the island, Kapalua Bay Beach give you a real taste of paradise as you listen to the palms whisper as they sway in the wind. It picturesqe golden sand and peacefully calm waters make it Maui's best. Considered a great swimming beach for families with small children, the beach is actually protected by two lava points which is why the waters are so calm. It alsom makes for excellent snorkeling since there are many small coral reefs which attract a great deal of colorful fish.

On Molokai, the smallesr of the five Hawaiian islands, Papuhaku Beach is number 1. First, imagine being stuck on the most beautiful deserted island with hundreds of feet of white sandy beach surrounding you. The occasional seagull flies by but for the most part you have this place to yourself. Its clear blue waters make it a great place for swimming and snorkeling as well.  If you need to get away from it all, and being on a remote island paradise sounds good to you, then so will Papuhaku Beach.

And saving the biggest island for last, Hawaii, aka  The Big Island is famous for its volcanic activity. When most people think of The Big Island, they're more likely to think of volcanoes as oppose to tropical beaches. But Hapuna Beach State Park is jus magnificent. It consist of a long band of squeaky white sand that goes for about a half mile. During the summer, the sand extends to well over a couple hundred feet, and the water is extremely clean anc very clear. There are many tropical fish which make snorkeling a favorite and there is also a nice-sized sand bar there. A popular beach for sunbathing, it is also the most popular beach on The Big Island and our favorite as well.
